Thomas Sugrue


Thomas Sugrue, author of the critically acclaimed "Origins of the Urban Crisis", is making an appearence at Wayne State Universty this month to promote his new book, "Sweet Land of Liberty: The Forgotten Struggle for Civil Rights in the North". He will deliver the keynote presentation at the Richard C. Van Dusen Forum on Urban Issues at 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be in the WSU Law School's Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, 471 West Palmer. A book sale and signing will follow. An ex-Detroiter, Sugrue is now a professor of History and Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania. Read one of his in-depth interviews.
